Around the World in 80 Bricks 2-Day Course (May Half Term 2019) PART 1

After completing our passports we were ready to go Around the World in 80 Bricks!

The first chapter was High Tower.  We watched the daring exploits of Philippe Petit who scaled Notre Dame on a wire, before then riding the Twin Towers in NYC.
One high tower managed to replicate Petit's not-so-petit feat of lying on his back at the top of the tower, but Joker had a lollipop too!

The next Chapter was Destination: Moon!

The challenge was to build a space rocket to go to - or beyond - the moon! We then illustrated our rockets in our journals and gave them an iconic title to follow in the footsteps of Apollo 11, which reached the moon 50 years ago this year!

Some space rockets had detachable rovers to go exploring on the surfaces of new planets!

It can be a long journey through space, so a mug of tea provided caffeine to keep Star Lord awake!

The Space Hammer was Thor's intergalactic space transport, replicating the shape of his famous harnesser of thunder: Mjolnir!

Some space rockets included a flag to be planted onto a new planet, like the famous U.S. flag planted on the moon in 1969.

Joker's spaceship was no joke!

The design included an internal open plan cockpit with emergency ice cream...

...along with a table lamp in and a bed to sleep in!
